Maybe Never was a different read for me. I am used to older characters and I tend to brush new adult or young adult books aside. I liked Maybe Never more than I thought I would. If you are looking for a hot and steamy read this isn’t it. This is definitely tame in regards to more adult themes but it definitely brings forth topics I haven’t encountered in previous books I’ve read. I’ve never read Sadie Allen and have to say her words really grip you.
Sunny and Judd encounter more challenges in their senior year of high school then any teenagers should. They each have family problems that honestly I have never seen before in a book before especially in Judd’s case. Sadie Allen definitely puts her characters through modern day issues that tug at you. She writes the words in a way you really feel for them and what they are forced to go through. I don’t want to give too much away because the twists and turns in this book really had me shocked at times but this was a great read. Maybe Never also touched upon bullying and how horrible it is to endure and overcome.
Sunny and Judd have a sweet romance and I have to say I liked them together and wish the book would have been longer. I was hoping for a longer epilogue with more of their future in it that is how much I liked the two of them. If you want to read a suspenseful coming of age romance with a few gut-wrenching twists pick this one up.
